“He focused too much in uncovering the wrongdoings of the previous administration. No concrete actions were evident because of this. But in a general sense, good results can already be felt as early as now.”
- Christoffer Obice, 2LIT
“We could not say much yet because it is just his first year in office. But speaking of how he handles criticisms, eradicates problems left by the previous administration, and fights corruption, he is doing well. People can really feel that we are on the right path.”
- Efraim Fernandez, CA
“It is good that he busts corrupt people because it will boost his campaign against corruption. It is because of corruption that we are experiencing poverty. This is crucial for us in achieving progress.”
– Rosemarie Tamayao, Security Guard
“It is too early to judge as of now. He still has many years to serve so let us just hope that he can deliver more. ”
- Nichelle Pascual, 4POL1
“Until now, he is still blaming Gloria’s administration. It seems like he has not moved on that is why issues that should be resolved are still left unsettled. I hope that this government will be felt and will not just exist to incriminate its predecessor.”
– Bianca De Mesa, 4JRN3
“He should have done more than what is expected of him even if he does not have as much political background as his parents do. He should always try to live up to those expectations.”
– Ivan Lazuriaga, 1POL2
“We still could not see the right path he promised the Filipino people. It has been a year already and we are still not there. Until now, there seems to be no difference between his term
and Gloria’s term.”
– Jona Salazar, 4BES1
“It is okay that President Aquino focused on investigating the previous administration. It is better than doing nothing. We should wait and see because these investigations might be our ticket to progress.”
– Angel Yamson, Jr., Security Guard

SITUATIONER:
It has been a year since President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III assumed the highest post in the country. Throughout his first year in office, he has been criticized for doing nothing but unearthing the mistakes and fraudulent acts made by the previous administration. Despite his efforts to reveal the wrongdoings committed by his predecessor, President Aquino’s over-all performance was perceived to be futile by many political analysts.
In line with this, the Flame gathered the diverse opinion of the Arts and Letters (Artlets) community to see how President Aquino faired in his first year.
