ALUMNI of the Faculty of Arts and Letters (Artlets) staged a fund raising concert for the benefit of the Artlets Alumni Association Scholarship Program at the Skarlet Jazz Kitchen in Quezon City last July 18.

The concert featured the performance of Artlets alumna Isay Alvarez-Seña whose experience in the world stage includes Miss Saigon performances. According to her, the fund-raising show was organized by the Artlets alumni batch 1982 to help Artlets students who cannot afford to pay for their education.

“We [Alumni Association] get together every year, and for this year, we thought of staging a concert to raise funds for our batch. Whatever amount of money that we are going to raise will be donated to the Alumni Association,” she said.

Alvarez, a stage, television, and movie actress, is a graduate of AB Translation in 1982, a program that was already abolished from the Faculty’s list of majors.

Meanwhile, Prof. Felicidad Galang-Perena of the Alumni Association said that they are currently sponsoring the education of two Artlets scholars.
