Freshmen walk pushes through
By LORENZ CHRISTOFFER S.  MARASIGAN
THE THOMASIAN Welcome Walk finally pushed through last August 5 after being postponed twice. The annual event was called off last June 23 and July 29 due to inclement weather.

University Rector Rolando V. de la Rosa, O.P., officially welcomed the freshmen into the Thomasian community and challenged them to “walk [the] journey to [their] dreams.”

“Every move constitutes to a meaning of life. You enrolled to be part of an adventure—the end being graduation,” de la Rosa said.

The Freshmen Walk was moved to the Plaza Mayor because the Grandstand was muddy brought about by light rainfalls that occurred prior to the scheduled event.

Of the approximately 13,000 freshmen who participated in the event, 1,118 were from the Faculty of Arts and Letters.

The Faculty of Engineering had the most number of participants with 1,868. It has been the third time that they got the most number of freshmen in the Welcome Walk.

Local bands and artists that graced the after party include Spongecola, Tanya Markova, Sinosikat and Gracenote.
